Under the Wave
To die like this is not reprehensible.
This is our lot. Our life
Is part and parcel of the sea. Our boats
Are a compromise Between total adjustment
And rebellion Here I, my years taken
Am truly child of the great mother.
I dip my oars and my arms and my heart
Into this bubbling broth of a womb O love!
Thus immersed I am almost at peace.
