Plain Geometry

When they go off in a huff, when they pull a stunt
like disappearing, like, after all the gobbledegook,
some kind of a magic act, why then,
we go also; Action-Reaction; some law of nature,
and we only imagine that one moves and the other stays put.
Rather it is like a geometric figure,
a Big Bang thing-in-itself,
where one starts at a point,
and moves outwards, awaywards.
Rarely are the trajectories
directly opposed, opposite,
forming, as in the Euclidian example,
a straight line, or taking
advantage of that, to obtain, in the shortest instance,
the greatest distance there can be between us.
Rather, angles are formed, some
of so small a degree, that two lives (or 3 or 4)
may appear parallel, and those on one line
may easily perceive that which is going on, on the other.
Well, this phenomenon we shall call a “sharing”,
albeit secondary to individuation,
to the formation of particles
with their own distinct autonomous characteristics,
and is often more of a disturbance to the fabric
of the cosmos than if that angle had been less acute,
if such differences, between people for example,
were actually obtuse, and to the point
where such separations are really the relief one had anticipated.
They are like tectonic plates that have split,
float like islands of refuge in the magma:
there is, quite suddenly, a surcease of tremors; the strain, reduced,
becomes negligible; you can let out the breath you have been holding.
Much has been written in the literature
about the nature of a Singularity.
Of greater significance in the history of the universe,
however, is the very fact of such a dissolution,
its evolution into the quarks and leptons and hadrons
that are its descendants.
And therefore, where in space, in time, it starts
us upon our peregrinations
does not really matter as much
as where we are going, and what other lines we shall be meeting.
