Pot in Bag

Togetherness
putting together
the need the necessity
Words lines ideas, like
joining two pots of clay to make
one Larger One
Running rubbing molding the clay together
Eliminating the appearance
even the actuality
of separateness.
And then at the firing, hoping
it will hold, will be a naturalness
of shape, as though, to start, it was not
two pieces, but one, but one, like an archeologist
finding potsherds, fragments, unglazed discarded bisque,
then sit glue make
something that simulates the Truth.
We all do that, we want to do that anyway,
manipulating shards, glueing together the words the ideas
we had, that was in the bag
and someone shook.
